A note about Food-Safe (201) and Food-Grade (304) stainless bowls - Both types are made of stainless that is food-safe and nontoxic. Almost all pet bowls on the market are made of 201 stainless. 201 stainless steel has a higher manganese content, and is more susceptible to corrosion over time than 304 stainless, which is the grade deemed suitable for human use.
